These Terms of Use govern your use of furkidsnews.com (the “Site”), published by Fur Kids News (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

About the Site

Fur Kids News is a news and information website about pets and animals. We publish short summaries of reporting from other outlets, along with original guides and features. The Site is free to read. We do not sell products, take payments, or offer accounts.

Who may use the Site

The Site is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not use the Site or send us any information. If you are between 13 and 18, please use the Site with a parent or guardian’s involvement.

How our content is produced

We want readers to understand exactly what they are reading, so we will state it plainly.

• We summarize, we do not replace. Most of our news stories are short summaries of reporting originally published by someone else. We credit the original outlet and link to the original article. If a story matters to you, please read it at the source.
• We use AI assistance, under human review. We use artificial intelligence tools to help find, draft, and edit content. A person decides what gets published.
• Our images are illustrative. Images on the Site are frequently created with AI tools rather than photographed at the events described. They are meant to illustrate the subject of a story, not to document it. Do not treat an image on this Site as photographic evidence of a specific event, person, animal, or place.
• We can be wrong. If you spot an error, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct or remove it.

Not professional advice

Content on the Site, including anything in our Health & Science section and any guide for pet owners, is general information for a general audience. It is not veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional who knows you and your animal.

Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your animal’s health, diet, medication, or behavior. If your animal is sick or injured, contact a veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not delay because of something you read here.

Our content

The Site’s original text, images, layout, logos, and the Fur Kids News name and marks are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may read, print, and share our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote a short excerpt with clear credit and a link back to the original page. You may not republish our articles in whole or in substantial part, use our content to train machine learning models without our permission, remove our credits or marks, or present our content as your own.

Third-party content and links

The Site quotes, summarizes, and links to material published by others, and embeds third-party content such as video players. That material belongs to its owners, and we make no representation about its accuracy, legality, or availability. A link is not an endorsement. Your dealings with any third-party site are between you and that site.

Copyright complaints

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our readers to do the same. If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to [email protected] including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
• The URL of the material on our Site that you want removed, specific enough for us to find it.

• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

We will review complete notices promptly and remove or disable access to material where appropriate. If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. We may terminate access for anyone who repeatedly infringes.

What you send us

If you send us a message, a comment, a story tip, or a suggestion, you keep ownership of it, but you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish it in connection with the Site, including crediting you by the name you give us. Do not send us anything confidential, and do not send us anything you do not have the right to share. We are not obliged to publish, keep, or respond to anything you send.

Acceptable use

When using the Site, please do not:

• Break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Post or send anything abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or hateful.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected system.
• Interfere with the Site’s operation, including through denial-of-service attacks or malware.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the Site or its content by automated means without our written permission.
• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.

Advertising, sponsorship, and affiliate links

The Site may carry advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking a link. This costs you nothing extra. We identify sponsored content as such. Advertising does not determine what we cover, and an ad or affiliate link is not a recommendation from us unless we say it is. Availability and accuracy

We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but we do not promise either. The Site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fur Kids News and anyone working with us will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Site, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100).

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limitations above apply to you only to the extent your state permits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fur Kids News and its owners, operators, and contributors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of anyone else.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You agree that any dispute relating to the Site or these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Illinois, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents either of us from bringing a claim in small claims court where it qualifies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
