Luna the golden retriever is back at it again, this time testing out a new pair of shoes meant to keep her paws safe from hot pavement, broken glass and other outdoor hazards. And once again, her reaction — along with that of her goldendoodle brother, Brodie — has viewers laughing.
Luna's human previously shared a clip of her trying on a pair of Crocs, an experience she clearly wasn't a fan of. That video showed her doing the awkward, high-stepping trot many dogs perform the first time they wear shoes, much to the amusement of online audiences. Some commenters, however, accused her owner of forcing the shoes on her against her will. He later clarified that the footwear wasn't for fashion but for protection, explaining that scorching concrete and sharp debris can make walks dangerous for her paws.
Now Luna is trying on round two: a pink pair of shoes. Though she still stumbled a bit while adjusting to them, she appeared to handle this fitting better than her first. At one point, she even hopped up onto the couch without bothering to take her new shoes off, a clear rookie mistake in canine footwear etiquette.
Meanwhile, Brodie wasn't planning on joining in the shoe trend, choosing to go barefoot during the fitting. But his decision to repeatedly get underfoot and interfere with Luna's session earned him a consequence of his own; he too ended up strapped into a pair of shoes as punishment for his meddling.
Once both dogs were properly outfitted, their owner took them outside to see how they'd manage in their new gear. It didn't take long for the siblings to adjust, and the pair were soon running around and getting into their usual mischief, kicks and all.
The video quickly won over commenters. "Now those kicks are stylin'!" one viewer wrote. Another joked about the dogs' contrasting movements, saying, "Luna was feeling frisky like a cat; meanwhile Brodie is in the background trotting like a Clydesdale horse!" A third person praised the dogs' newfound confidence, writing that they looked like they finally "felt so protected with their feet."
While Luna may have needed a couple of tries to find a pair she was comfortable in, it seems her dog dad might want to start building out her shoe collection, since it looks like these two pups are just getting started with their fashion journey.
